| ANGELS In Vittorio Mazzucconi’s painting,angels have been a recurring theme, a long time before they ever became fashionable. Nobody knows whether true angels or merely a artist’s soul and ours. At the time of the Descent there were no encounters with any angels in Mazzucconi’s paintings, but only demons. |

Man does not wish to see, nor does he wish to hear, nor does he wish to receive Grace. At times, he is a sleeping, dormant being, intermingled with terrestrial reality, with whom the Angel seeks to speak, but in vain. Finally, Grace descends upon him, as beautiful and tender as a loving woman. But again, he seems to draw back, or barely seems capable of even showing her a hesitant welcoming gesture. |
