1980 - 1986 Vittorio Mazzucconi's paintings, with the Artist's comments After an initial moment of mourning, there follows a long period of shadow and pain. Once the soul has descended to Hades, its stay is prolonged in order to free itself, little by little, of the most obscure part of itself. For three years, the works that date to this time, express this obscurity, at times with noticeable results. There follows a new journey into Eros. This time, however, it is no longer the bearer of the fundamental step towards an inner development and the extraordinary creative power which follows (as it was before), but rather a vagabond at a low and stagnant level, until it leads, ultimately, to a liberating dissolution. Though this can be claimed for painting, which closely portrays the ups and down of the artist's personal life, it must be said that, at a higher level, experiencing the descent to Hades gave its fruit in another field: THE DAWNING CITY. Project (that is nothing other than the escape from Hades). As a consequence to the project, a new radiant day commences and the spiritual blooming follows (especially in the building of the Flower . It is no coincidence that it may be considered as radiating from the cross, and thus symbolise the Self). |
