Athena
1984.10
80 x 60, oil on canvas

Click detail
In many paintings a divine personage, the Self, appears behind a human being. In this case, on the contrary, there is a shining god in the front, while the real person stands on the back. In both cases, however, the person is winded in the darkness of the human condition.

The Sibyl (Lyda)
1984.11.07
80 x 60, oil on canvas
In this case too, the person stands behind with her shadow, while the shining Being is in the front. Nevertheless the latter is not a god but the person herself that
is possessed by the supernatural oracle’s power.

The abandonment
1984.12
70 x 90, oil on canvas
Thus reaches the end a story, when only the real person remains, the one that is now devoid of any disguise, of any illusion.
