| TO BRIGITTE The great cycle of paintings inspired by Brigitte begins here: at first, from the brief and intense love season and later on for the long mourning caused by her loss, united with the remorse of having abandoned her. An authentic Descent to Hades originated from this experience. Even at the time of a happy love, there was a very powerful underground energy in this |
creature, that made itself even more strongly heard after the abandonment. The artist has been quenched by it, for living, in such a way, an intense relationship with this shadow, and for having decided to continue in this only to re-emerge to see the light many years later. Similar experiences, described in his poem, had definitely not been different. |
