Oracle 2
1979
116 x 90, oil on canvas
Just like a miner carries a torch on his helmet, so, this figure seeks himself with this very light: and it is a demon to appear in the deepest part of his consciousness.

The Journey
1979
95 x 100, oil on canvas
The grieving soul undergoes its journey in the afterlife, with a demon to guide his way. As they pass, all the wings and leaves fold, as if they were accompanying their strut. Below, a mount worthy of Hades: a dragon.

Charon
1979
110 x 110, oil on canvas
The soul descends towards Hades, the flower of life fades in colour and falls inside the boat, where Charon awaits ‘with eyes of ash’. Yet the wind that fills his sail seems to be blowing in the opposite direction to that of the tremendous journey. Perhaps the faded leaf is coming back to life, and Charon is looking elsewhere, after all... This is the mystery of the equilibrium, between going to Hades and returning.
