To be pointed out: the cross that spontaneously appears on the head and, over it, the sparks of a burning sun. As one can see, notwithstanding the tremendous shadow in which He is immersed, it is not only a man who is facing his death, but the very sun is heading towards the setting of the spirit.

Crucifixion
1979
165 x 120, oil on canvas
Christ is crucified. At first, the event appears purely as a cultural, remembrance. We have seen it so often, in the massive golden crosses of the 14th century, for example. Yet, suffering and broken legs emerge from the cross, and Someone shouts his despair, with the voice of our day. He almost appears a cubist. Ignoring whether this happened yesterday or today, we must consider the face of the Crucified Christ, that seems (and is) the sun itself, crowned not by thorns but by rays of light, even though it is veiled and wearied by great sadness. And this sadness is represented by painting the sunset over the inner sea, which is simultaneously, the all.
