The existing buildings


The existing buildings have a special feature: the parapets of the roof terraces seem to be parts of an unachieved roof, as well as the stairs protruding blocks. The whole looks therefore as a fragmented and uncompleted roof, while the project of a new extra story tries to unify it in a regular shape, with the same tiles of the existing covering.
In a city in which many buildings have been disfigured by uncontrolled extra storeys, this project, which proposes a discreet and pleasant integration has been harshly opposed.
