A loft on the Navigli
Il Luogo della Cascata (the waterfall site) is the name given by Vittorio Mazzucconi to a particular site: a space formerly used as a dump beside a floodway canal which, from the Naviglio, brings its water to the Lambro, a little river which emerges to light a bit further away, after an underground and ill-smelling way. The dump has become a garden, the canal a charming river and the little waterfall generated by a change of level, a poetic event. Even the loft into which has been turned an adjacent storehouse has been changed by poetry. Mazzucconi made out of it his studio-house and the seat of his Foundation. |
