VIEW OF THE ARK WITH THE CATHEDRAL IN THE BACKGROUND

The Ark has the shape of a glass and steel reversed pyramid, which will be supported by four large pillars.

On the left:
  1. the water pool, evoking the layout of the ancient St.Tecla Basilica
  2. a glass half-cylinder which materializes its apse
  3. the reflection in the water of the Cathedral facade
  4. the Vittorio Emanuele II monument, displaced from its present position and deprived from its enormous pedestal



The very idea of a reversed pyramid springs from the Cathedral facade.
We can inscribe in the façade a square, divisible in two superposed triangles. The bottom one, which touches the soil with its vertex, suggests the shape of the Ark and its proportions.
Even its pillars find a correspondence with the Cathedral façade great pillars.
