1993-1996 Vittorio Mazzucconi's paintings, with the Artist's comments |
(10/14) |
The Door 1994.07.24 200 x 200, acrylic on canvas The painting has been remade: 1999.11.03 |
The beloved woman is seen both as Angel and
guide, that calls alllife’s energies (the waves present in the lower
half of the painting) toherself and then opens the luminous door to spiritual
accomplishment. In the top-left corner, the red spiral that appears
in many of Mazzucconi’s paintings; jokingly, but then again maybe
not, he says it is the Holy Spirit. See also: The Door 1988 |
The Shell 1994.11.95 200 x 200, acrylic on canvas |
The Soul is like a spiral that unwinds itself around an inner harmony. Outside it, on the contrary, are the loose objects of life. |
A-pollo 1994.12.10 100 x 100, acrylic on canvas |
A period of love and creativity made me think of myself as A-pollo but… (‘pollo’ in Italian means chicken) |
