The Dancer 1990.03 240 x 240, oil on canvas, in 5 parts |
The beloved woman departs, practically dancing
as she goes, whereas the abandoned man remains spellbound and astonished.
But something more important now happens: as the woman – or women
– may come and go in our lives, the dancer remains in the centre of
the painting. Or is the centre in fact empty, inhabited only by a mystery?
The beloved person is no longer there, only my soul, whose gesture ushers
a new harmony. See also: The D’ARS Angel 1990.02 |
The Return 1990.03 240 x 304, oil on canvas, in 11 parts It seemed the dream of a return, although it is not the beloved woman who returns. She is now an enemy, wrathful, wrapped in her tiny world as if in a bud. It is a new being who comes, and she seems to rise up and disappear under the benevolent wing of the Lord. She is the inner woman, the Chosen Soul whose return and union are celebrated almost as a marriage. |
