The Knight’s dream 1990.05 230 x 348, oil on canvas, in 13 parts Two figures are locked
in an embrace. beside them, a horse rears upon its hind while its head
and chest seem to become light, almost blending with the sky; the figure
of the knight floats in the air as if seated on a horse, holding the bridle
in one hand and urging the horse with the other, but he is completely
detached from the horse and is riding in the opposite direction, pursued
by Death! |
It is as if the soul, empowered by libido to leap into the saddle and ride the horse of life, detached itself from life and, at a certain point, mindful of death, embraced Eternity. Click detail |
