It is an open area before the Strozzi Palace, that brings back to mind the squares of the ideal Renaissance cities, though there is here a different dynamic which is more typical of our time. In full view there is one of the poly-hedrons designed by Leonardo, to be set in the very centre of the Thermaes. A stretch of water suggests a poetical approach to the remains of the Roman thermal baths, some 3..5 metres below. In the background there are a few university buildings (cafeteria and reception center ). To the left, there is the new Museo dell'Etruria, which bravely mingles with the Signoria Palace, and the small Triumphal Arch. |
