    Annunciation
1988.05
120 x 140, oil on canvas
These two juxtaposed, though separate, paintings suggest the theme of the Annunciation in which, equally, two separate worlds – the

divine and the human – are both juxtaposed and united. These two worlds are separate, but they are neither opposed nor irredeemably different because one world mirrors the other. When we look in our inner mirror, the Messenger of God appears; our human hands almost touch those of the Angel in a gesture of prayer and of search. At the supreme moment, when contact is actually made, divine energy passes from one hand to the other and the miracle of life occurs.
